Terms of Use
Effective date: 3 October 2026
About these terms
Welcome to Hey Ming. These Terms of Use apply to our website, app and related services, together referred to as the “Service”. Before registering an account or accepting these terms, please read these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Personal Information Collection Statement.
1. The Service
Ming uses AI conversations to provide everyday information, practical guidance and related assistance. Some features may require a compatible device, an internet connection, device permissions or a particular service plan.
AI may misunderstand questions or provide information that is incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Please verify relevant information before making important decisions.
The Service cannot replace medical diagnosis, professional legal or financial advice, emergency assistance or care provided by a person. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services directly. Do not wait for Ming to respond.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must have the legal capacity to enter into these terms. If you use or manage the Service on someone else's behalf, you must have appropriate authorisation.
Please provide accurate registration details, keep your sign-in credentials secure and prevent unauthorised access to your account. Contact us promptly if you suspect that someone is misusing your account or notice suspicious activity.
Helping a family member register, pay or set up the Service does not automatically give you access to their private conversations or personal data.
3. Voice, camera and location features
To provide these features, the Service needs to process the voice, image or location data you supply. You can manage the relevant permissions through the Service or your device settings. Disabling permissions may affect the corresponding features.
Avoid providing sensitive details that are unrelated to your question, such as full payment card details, passwords or verification codes. Before photographing or submitting information about someone else, make sure you have the right to do so.
4. Caregiver and family features
Conversation summaries, reminders and other updates are shared with relevant people only in accordance with the applicable permission settings.
Summaries may omit details or contain misunderstandings. They should not be treated as complete call records, medical records or safety-monitoring reports. Caregivers should still contact the user directly when needed.
5. Plans, fees and payments
Before you place an order, the page will show the plan price, included usage, extra charges and applicable conditions. Please review these details before submitting your order.
If a plan charges for usage above its allowance, the calculation and billing method must be clearly explained before purchase. Any automatic renewal must also be explained and authorised before you confirm your order.
Cancellations, refunds and unused allowances are handled according to the conditions provided at purchase and applicable law. Contact us if you have questions about a charge.
Creating an account, choosing a plan or receiving product updates does not, by itself, create an obligation to pay.
Any mobile data, call or other communications charges incurred when using the Service are charged by your communications provider under its own terms.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service for fraud, harassment or other unlawful activity; impersonate another person or access their data without permission; upload content that infringes privacy or intellectual property rights; disrupt systems, bypass security measures or misuse the Service; or resell the Service or extract platform content in bulk without authorisation.
If we have reasonable grounds to suspect that an account is involved in these activities, we may take necessary measures, including restricting or suspending relevant features.
7. Content you provide
You retain the relevant rights to the content you provide. You authorise us to process that content to the extent necessary to answer your questions, provide the features you request and handle related service matters.
These terms do not give us unrestricted permission to publish your private conversations or use them for unrelated marketing. Personal data is also handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Personal Information Collection Statement.
8. Intellectual property and external services
Ming's brand, character, designs, software and platform content belong to us or the relevant rights holders. They must not be copied, sold or otherwise used commercially unless permitted by law or authorised.
The Service may provide links to external websites, transport information or other third-party information. The relevant content and services may have their own terms, and the information may change at any time.
9. Changes and interruptions to the Service
Maintenance, network issues, devices or other circumstances may interrupt the Service. We take reasonable steps to maintain it, but do not guarantee that every feature will be available at all times.
If a significant change affects a service you have purchased, we will notify you appropriately and handle the matter according to applicable conditions and law.
10. Liability and account closure
We accept the responsibilities required of us by law. These terms do not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and do not affect your statutory rights.
You may contact us to request account closure. Closing an account, cancelling a subscription and deleting data are separate matters. Each request will be handled according to the applicable arrangements.
11. Updates to these terms and contact details
We may update these terms and show the updated date. For significant changes to rights, charges or data uses, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain renewed consent where required.
These terms are governed by Hong Kong law, subject to any mandatory requirements of applicable law.
